About Caroline Loher, LCMHCA

What’s therapy like with me?
Finding a therapist and starting therapy can feel so overwhelming. There are so many options, AND you have to talk about your feelings with someone you barely know. The thought can feel terrifying.
My goal as your therapist is to make that process a little more comfortable for you. When a client comes into my office (or logs onto our video chat), I want them to feel safe and at ease. In our waiting area and my office, you will find a tea station, coloring books, and comfortable seating that doesn’t have the “sterile” feel of a doctor’s office.
As we get to know each other, you will hopefully start to feel like this is your space, too. I use “parts work” as my primary therapeutic approach, so you can expect to engage in some guided imagery, creativity, and self-reflection.
I encourage clients to show up fully as themselves, and I deeply value holding unconditional acceptance for my clients. That means you don’t have to worry about how you show up in the room – loud, quiet, talkative, reserved, tired, energetic, sensitive, or silly. I will be there for you and help you work toward the goals we establish as a team.

Our time together is about you.
I also love integrating clients’ interests into sessions, whether it’s music, art, crafts, nature, or gaming.
After a few months together, you can expect to develop a deeper understanding of, and greater compassion for, yourself, your experiences, and your goals.
You receive more tools to manage your most burdensome symptoms and gain a deeper understanding of their origins.
Throughout the process, I want you to feel supported, accepted, and more deserving of the joy and freedom you are seeking.
About Me
Here’s a little about my background.
In December 2024, I received my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a concentration in Couples and Families from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
Currently, I hold an Associate-level license in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in North Carolina.
Outside of therapy…
I enjoy creative activities, whatever they may be, and listen to music as if it were a second job.
I live with my husband, our dog, Fig Newton, and two cats, Ozzy and Lua.
I look forward to getting to know you and hope to meet you soon!
