About Ashley Bastron, Clinical Intern

What’s therapy like with me?

When you sit with me at Nourished and Known Counseling, you’ll find a space that feels calm, grounded, and welcoming. It’s a place where you can slow down, exhale, and be.

Therapy with me is collaborative, as we explore together what has been weighing on you and make sense of the emotions beneath the surface. Then, we will begin rebuilding trust in your body and mind.

I hope that, over time, you’ll feel lighter, steadier, and more connected to yourself and the life you want to live.

Therapy is about meeting YOUR needs.

My approach is grounded in curiosity, empathy, and care.

I draw from several evidence-based modalities, including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Motivational Interviewing, and Person-Centered and Trauma-Informed approaches.

Some sessions may focus on understanding the patterns and beliefs that keep you stuck, while others help you practice new ways of relating to yourself, managing stress, or interacting with the people around you.

Over time, you can expect to feel more connected to who you are, more confident in navigating life’s challenges, and more at peace in your own body.

About Me

Sports came first, then counseling.

Before becoming a counselor, I spent a decade as a collegiate cross-country and track coach, having earned degrees in Exercise Science and Sport Administration.

Witnessing the mental health struggles of student-athletes inspired me to pursue a graduate degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Wake Forest University.

Now, I’m passionate about helping others find healing, strength, joy, and self-compassion.

Outside the office…

I love spending time with my husband and our two dogs, enjoying a beautiful hike, going out for a run, or sipping a fun latte at a local coffee shop.
